Police in Mid Ulster seized drugs with an estimated street value of more than £80,000 during a targeted day of action. The operation involved coordinated proactive searches at multiple properties in the Cookstown and Stewartstown areas.

The Class A and B drugs recovered included quantities of suspected cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis. The searches were led by local District Support Team officers, with assistance from Neighbourhood and Local Policing Teams.

Six people were arrested on suspicion of a range of offences related to the incident.

DST Sergeant Delaney stated that disrupting and dismantling criminal groups involved in drug supply remains a top priority in the district. He noted that illegal drug supply funds organised crime, drives violence, and increases exploitation in communities.

Sergeant Delaney described the operation as the first of many days of action, demonstrating that police can take decisive action with the right information to protect communities from drug harms. He emphasised efforts to make Mid Ulster a hostile environment for those involved in the drugs trade.

The public is encouraged to report information on drug dealing via 101, the PSNI online reporting form, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
