A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences following searches in Derry. Police seized quantities of suspected Class A and Class B drugs, electronic devices, and drug-related paraphernalia during the operation on Thursday, 27 August.

The searches were led by the District Support Team, the Paramilitary Crime Task Force, and district colleagues. The man was arrested at a house in the city on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of Class B with intent to supply. He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Reports will also be submitted to the Public Prosecution Service in respect of three other individuals following a house and vehicle search, where further quantities of suspected Class A and Class B drugs were seized.

Chief Inspector Graeme Craig said that targeting drug supply is a priority for the Police Service of Northern Ireland, and they work to tackle every aspect of drug supply and misuse in the area. He described drug supply as a vicious cycle that needs to be collectively broken and urged anyone with information to contact police on 101.
