Players from Ballymena United Football Club visited Dunclug Primary School in Ballymena on Thursday, March 5, for World Book Day 2026.

First-team players Donal Rocks and Brad Wade attended with fitness coach Glenn Wilkinson and club chairman Chris Selwood. They met Primary Six and Seven pupils.

Pupils questioned the players on opponents, childhood memories, healthy lifestyles and favourite fictional characters in a press conference-style session.

The players then asked pupils about their favourite books and reasons for enjoying reading.

Afterwards, pupils joined the players for football drills and games.

The club donated a signed shirt, footballs and reading books to the school.

Principal Alastair Beacom thanked the club for inspiring pupils to learn, stay active and develop life skills. Pupils plan to attend Ballymena United's match against Portadown FC at Ballymena Showgrounds on Saturday.
