Ballinamallard United academy donates £1,000 to local Women’s Aid after Castle Archdale walk
Youth footballers from Ballinamallard United have presented £1,000 to Fermanagh and Omagh Women’s Aid following a sponsored walk at Castle Archdale Country Park.
Players from the club’s Mini Mallards and BKYL programmes took part in the walk, raising funds for the charity which provides trauma-informed and confidential support services to women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse. The organisation delivers crisis intervention, community-based assistance and refuge accommodation.
The donation forms part of an active period for the club’s underage section. Separately, £10,000 was raised locally to help a group of young players travel to Spain for the Barcelona Cup.
Richard Anderson, head coach of the Ballinamallard United 2016s, described the Barcelona Cup as one of Europe’s leading international youth tournaments, offering players the chance to test themselves in a competitive environment while gaining cultural experience.
