Ballymena financial firm appoints new director for Northern Ireland expansion
Mitchell & Wilson Financial Planning has appointed Liam Wilson as director of the Ballymena-based firm.
Wilson assumed the role after moving to Northern Ireland from Australia just over a year ago. He previously operated a financial advisory practice in Australia following an injury that ended his rugby career.
The company, founded by David Mitchell in May 2006, manages around 200 families across the region. Mitchell will continue his involvement in the business.
Wilson stated he recognised the same community values in Ballymena that he experienced growing up in Queensland. He plans to expand the firm to assist more local families, professionals and business owners.
Mitchell said Wilson has demonstrated the experience required to guide the firm forward. The company specialises in pensions, investments and inheritance tax planning as a partner practice of St. James's Place.
Wilson is also Vice Chairman of Ballymena United Football Club. His grandparents originally came from Ballymena.
