Education Minister Paul Givan has officially opened a new school building at New-Bridge Integrated College in Loughbrickland.

The £27.5 million project was funded primarily through the Fresh Start Programme, supported by the UK Government.

Construction began in January 2023 and was completed in September 2026.

The design was led by the Integrated Consultancy Team under AECOM, with Ganson UK Ltd appointed as building contractor.

Minister Givan said the opening was an exciting milestone, with new high-quality facilities providing an excellent learning environment for pupils and staff. He commended the patience and commitment of the school community throughout the project.

Principal Hilary Harbinson described the day as momentous in the school's history, thanking all who contributed to making the vision a reality and looking forward to opportunities for current and future pupils.

The Fresh Start funding is part of the UK Government's commitment under the Fresh Start and Stormont House agreements to support shared and integrated education.
