Lewis Kelly, an 18-year-old from Culdaff in County Donegal, died on a Friday night while taking part in an activity he enjoyed. The sixth-year student at Carndonagh Community School played Gaelic football, hurling and soccer for the school. He also represented Malin GAA at minor level and Culdaff Soccer Club.

School staff noted Kelly showed commitment and determination in sports. He supported teammates with energy and encouragement. Staff described him as greeting teachers and students with warmth and maintaining a positive attitude.

Carndonagh Community School stated thoughts are with Kelly's family, including brother Quinn who attends the school, and girlfriend Darcy, also a sixth-year student there. The school plans to remember Kelly for his respect, care and teamwork.

Inishowen Cathaoirleach Martin McDermott expressed condolences on behalf of Donegal County Council and Inishowen residents to Kelly's family, friends and those affected.

Malin GAA recalled Kelly's progress through underage ranks and his positive attitude. The family placed his ball on the pitch in Connolly Park for people to sign. The Malin clubhouse opened daily from 8.30am to 9.30pm with a book of condolences.

Culdaff FC opened its clubhouse on Tuesday night and suspended activities until further notice. Clonmany Shamrocks FC held a minute's silence before a reserve game. Tributes came from Inishowen Rugby Club, Glengad FC, Culdaff Tidy Towns and McGuinness' Bar in Culdaff.
