Marks & Spencer has started redeveloping its Aldergrove store to double the size of the Foodhall. The project expands into the adjoining service station.

The upgrade creates up to 25 new local jobs. Store Manager David Brady stated the investment provides benefits for customers and the workforce. He noted the store will offer a wider range of quality food in a modern environment.

Over 2,000 new product lines will join the inventory. A frozen food range will launch for the first time. The selection includes expanded salads, sandwiches and locally sourced options from Newry-based Around Noon.

An in-store bakery will grow larger. Coffee-to-go facilities will upgrade with two machines for faster service. Additional self-checkout tills will cut waiting times. The Click & Collect service stays in operation.

The work belongs to Marks & Spencer's programme to modernise Foodhalls at key sites.
