Man Remanded After Police Seize £300,000 in Drugs from Tyrone Properties
Police arrested Eoghan Hagan, 32, from Millrace Mews in Moneymore, during searches in Moneymore and Cookstown on Monday. He faces charges in Omagh Magistrates Court for possession of cannabis and cocaine with intent to supply, involvement in supplying both drugs, possession of criminal property, counterfeit money, and equipment to produce it.
Officers searched a Moneymore address with permission from Hagan's partner. They recovered 1.34kg of cocaine worth £160,800 and 9.98kg of cannabis worth £149,700. Authorities also seized £50,000 in cash and counterfeit notes hidden there.
A further search in Cookstown located Hagan at the property. He was arrested, interviewed, and made admissions to police.
Defence counsel Joe McCann stated Hagan has no prior record and acted as a drug mule. McCann said Hagan stored drugs for dealers via a mobile app and fully cooperated by providing his phone pin code.
District Judge Conor Heaney refused bail. He noted evidence of planning and premeditation in the offences and doubts about Hagan's limited role in the supply chain. Heaney ruled risks of reoffending could not be managed on bail.
Hagan remains in custody for his next appearance at Dungannon Magistrates Court on May 6.
