Glenn McCormick from Larne has won the Brian Bell Memorial Motocross for the second consecutive year at the Miller Oils Laurelbank Motocross Park.

The event, organised by Temple Motorcycle Club, was postponed by a fortnight because of heavy rain but went ahead in favourable weather with a strong entry of riders from across Northern Ireland.

McCormick set the early pace by winning the first Group A race ahead of Nathan Green from Seaforde and local rider Niall Cregan. Jordan McCaw responded by taking the second race, but McCormick sealed overall Group A honours by winning the final race, with Green second, Cregan third and McCaw fourth.

In the Clubman classes, Colin Davidson won Group One with two race victories. Andrew Kelly finished second overall, Alex Dugan was third and Brian Bell, nephew of the late Brian Bell, took fourth. James Milligan dominated Group Two by winning all three races, ahead of Ethan Brown in second and Jake Boyd in third.

The feature race of the evening was the eight-lap Brian Bell Memorial, open to the fastest 30 riders. McCormick again proved strongest, leading home Green and Cregan. McCaw and Scott Hamilton completed the top five.

The Brian Bell Memorial has been a fixture on the local motocross calendar since 1969 and remains one of the sport's most sought-after titles.

Temple Motorcycle Club thanked the Bell family, circuit preparer Gerard O'Neill, St John Ambulance, race officials, marshals and volunteers for their contributions.
