A community Hyrox event celebrating 170 years of Loreto Grammar School in Omagh will take place next month, combining fitness activities with fundraising for two local causes.

The 170 Loreto Hyrox will be held at the school on Sunday, September 6, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Organisers have stated that the event is inclusive and open to people of all abilities, with activities scaled and adapted so participants can take part comfortably.

The event is not a timed competition, allowing everyone to participate at their own pace. It is open both to those preparing for a full Hyrox event and to anyone who simply wants to try something new while joining in the school's anniversary celebrations.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Loreto Oratory and Dementia NI. Organisers Sarah, Lucy, Laura and Clodagh said all proceeds will directly support both causes.

Registration is available via an online sign-up page, and refunds will not be issued. Local business owners interested in sponsoring the event can contact the school by email. Sponsorship will go to Dementia NI and contribute towards the creation of the new Loreto Oratory.

Loreto Grammar School was founded in 1855, making 2025 its 170th anniversary year.
