Phillips Dominates Ulster Superbike Round at Kirkistown
Carl Phillips dominated the fifth round of the SBT Ulster Superbike Championship at Kirkistown Racing Circuit last weekend, winning both races and setting a new lap record. The event was promoted by the Road Racing Club of Ireland.
In the first race, Phillips led from start to finish aboard his BMW, recording a fastest lap of 54.051 seconds. Ryan Gibson crossed the line second ahead of Luke Jones and Aaron Spence. Alan Kenny took fifth and Mark Hewitt sixth. The race was red-flagged after the top six had finished.
Phillips completed a clean sweep in race two, again leading from the early stages. Jones finished second, Gibson third, and Jamie Lyons fourth. Spence recovered to fifth and Hewitt rounded out the top six. Phillips also received the Norman Brown Memorial Trophy for his double victory.
In the Supertwins class, Christian Elkin won both races, beating Kyle Cross twice. Robert Waddell was third in race one and Dean McMaster third in race two. Korie McGreevey led early in the second race but retired on lap four.
Other multiple winners included Paige Mullan with two Moto 1 victories, Jack Burrows in Moto3, Ruben Sherman Boyd in Lightweight Supersport, and Scott Clements in the Superbike Cup. Ryan McElroy and Harry McAleese shared the 600cc wins, while Dylan Lynch and passenger Cillian Rogers took both sidecar races.
