Phillips Secures Superbike Double at Kirkistown
Reigning champion Carl Phillips secured a double victory at the third round of the Ulster Superbike Championship at Kirkistown Racing Circuit on Saturday.
In the first King of Kirkistown Superbike race, Phillips led from the start and finished ahead of Jonny Campbell, with Ryan Gibson taking third. The second race proved tighter, as Phillips edged Campbell by 0.793 of a second, with Gibson again claiming third.
Korie McGreevey won both Crown Prince Supersport races on a McAdoo Kawasaki. Christian Elkin took second in race one, while Phillips slotted into second in race two, pushing Elkin to third.
Elkin dominated the President’s Cup Supertwins class, winning both races on the Bell Bikesport B&W Aprilia. Dean McMaster and Kyle Cross were among the leading finishers.
Ruben Sherman Boyd claimed two Lightweight Supersport wins ahead of Hubert Tomaszewski and Buster Sherman Boyd. Alfie Flynn was a double Moto3 winner, beating Matt Davidson in both races.
In the classic categories, Malcolm Love, Kyle Parkes, and Mark Johnson each took double victories in the 250cc, 350cc, and 500cc classes respectively. Additional wins were recorded by Tomaszewski in Moto 1, Richie McLoughlin and Jonathan Gregory in the Superbike Cup, Conor O’Donnell and Steven Love in Pre Injection, and Christian Boyles in the Supersport Cup.
