August Craft Month is underway in Northern Ireland, offering a range of family-friendly events that showcase the work of over 3,000 designer makers across more than 600 events. The programme spans 20 craft disciplines and runs throughout August.

Among the events is the Kitsch Sisters Craft Club, which meets on Thursday 27 August from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Kitsch Sisters Studio in Belfast. The monthly club welcomes crafters of all skill levels and ages, with participants encouraged to bring their own projects. Some tools, such as needles, hooks, and hoops, will be available.

The Creative Peninsula exhibition, titled 'This Beautiful Place…', continues at the Discovery Hub in Newtownards until Sunday 30 August. The exhibition features work by artists Anna Smyth, Joel Smyth, Lauren Ciara McCullough, and Ruth Osborne, including ceramics, jewellery, painting, and textile prints. Creative Peninsula is in its 25th year.

Fiona Shannon will hold an open studio and pottery sale at her studio at 185 Coleraine Road, Portstewart, on Saturday 29 August from 10am to 4pm. Visitors can watch pottery wheel demonstrations and browse pieces for sale, including discounted seconds.

In Portadown, sisters Annita and Samantha McKee present 'Worry Worlds' at Millennium Court, running until Monday 31 August. The multimedia installation uses ceramic world sculptures to explore the impact of climate change and human activity on the planet.
