Cromac Street Resurfacing Project Gets Underway in Belfast City Centre
A £220,000 resurfacing project on Cromac Street in Belfast city centre began on Monday, bringing weeks of lane closures and overnight work.
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins announced the scheme, which covers the stretch from Ormeau Avenue to Hamilton Street. She said the investment would benefit road users and visitors and reflected her commitment to improving the network.
Daytime lane closures are in place from 9.30am to 3.30pm daily until Friday 12 June. A full road closure will then take effect from 7pm on Sunday 14 June until 6am on Monday 15 June, followed by overnight closures from 8pm to 6am each night from Monday 15 June to Thursday 18 June.
The Department for Infrastructure warned that additional off-peak lane and night closures may be required between 18 June and 26 June to complete the work. Diversion routes will be signed during closures, and motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra travelling time.
The department said it had scheduled the works to minimise disruption and asked road users to observe all temporary restrictions. Subject to weather, the project is due to be finished by 26 June.
