Road closures will affect areas around Belfast Grand Central Station in the coming weeks to complete resurfacing works. The closures support public realm improvements for pedestrian safety, walking routes, accessibility and cycling, due to finish this summer.

Resurfacing starts with Phase 1 on Amelia Street and Great Victoria Street. A full closure takes place Saturday and Sunday, 18-19 April. Work begins at 8pm Saturday and ends Sunday evening.

Phase 2 covers Hope Street and Sandy Row over four weekends in May: 9-10 May, 16-17 May, 23-24 May, and 30-31 May. Each follows the same schedule, starting 8pm Saturday and finishing Sunday evening.

Signposted diversion routes will operate during closures. Metro and Ulsterbus/Goldliner services face disruptions, with some stops suspended temporarily.

Pedestrian access remains open throughout. Translink advises road users and passengers to plan ahead and add travel time.

Public transport offers an option for city centre trips amid expected road delays. Passengers can check translink.co.uk or the Journey Planner tool.
