Matt Ryder won rounds three and four of the British Hill Climb Championship at the Craigantlet Hill Climb in County Down on Saturday. He set a new course record of 38.60 seconds over the 1,460-yard course with an average speed of 77.4 mph.

Ryder beat the previous record of 39.12 seconds, set by Scott Moran in 2016 and equalled by Dave Uren in 2019. In his second timed run, Ryder recorded 39.10 seconds. Will Hall achieved 38.64 seconds, the first sub-39 second run. Wallace Menzies posted 39.03 seconds.

Ryder defeated Hall in both top 12 run-offs with times nine hundredths and four hundredths of a second faster. Menzies placed third, Uren fourth, Trevor Willis fifth, and Paul Haimes sixth.

Ryder now leads Hall by two points and Menzies by eight points in the championship standings. The next rounds take place at Harewood.

The event doubled as the second round of the CAS-KART Association of Northern Ireland Car Clubs Championship. Tim Woodside from Dunadry topped the local results in 11th overall with 43.78 seconds in a 2.5 litre Gould GR55.

Steven Robb from Crumlin placed 16th overall with 46.51 seconds in a GTR Turbo. Simon Woodside from Templepatrick recorded 47.22 seconds in a Pilbeam MP82 for third in ANICC. David Mutch from Belfast took 47.64 seconds in an OMS PR, and Dan Campbell from Kells posted 47.93 seconds in a Toyota Starlet.

Nicola Menzies recorded the fastest women's time of 44.9 seconds in a Gould GR55B, finishing 10th overall. Adrian Lemon from Comber won the Tony McShane Trophy for fastest Northern Ireland newcomer with 64.82 seconds in a Mini 1, placing 77th overall.

The ANICC revised class structures for 2026, making all class winners at Craigantlet new record holders. Organisers held the 113th edition of the event.
