Craigantlet Hill Climb Draws Top British Drivers for 2026 Event
Patterson Electronics will sponsor Craigantlet Hill Climb for a fourth year in 2026. Belfast City Council and local businesses also provide support.
The entry list features 70 percent of the top 10 drivers and vehicles from rounds three and four of the Motorsport UK British Hill Climb Championship. Matt Ryder, the current champion, leads the field. Wallace Menzies, a four-time champion, takes second position. Will Hall holds third.
The event hosts the second round of the CAS-KART Association of Northern Ireland Car Clubs Hill Climb Championship and the first round of the Ulster Automobile Club Championship.
ANICC defending champion Tim Woodside enters in a Gould GR55. Michael Beattie drives an Alpine A110S.
ANICC entries include drivers in Mini, BMW, Audi, Westfield, Toyota, Ford, Subaru, and single-seaters across over 15 classes.
Patterson Electronics sales director Ian Culbert stated the company supports the full entry of quality drivers and machinery. He noted pride in the association with the Ulster Automobile Club and Craigantlet.
Clerk of the course Wilson Carson said 2025 marked the Ulster Automobile Club's 100th anniversary. He added that the hill climb saw competitors set personal bests while approaching the record of 39.12 seconds.
Fans can meet drivers and view cars from 5pm in the grounds of Campbell College, Belmont Road, BT4 2ND. Roads close at 7.30am Saturday. Practice begins at 9.30am, with the first timed run at noon.
