Tom Crudgington won the Slieve Donard Race on Saturday in a record time of 52 minutes and 2 seconds. The Newcastle AC runner reached the summit in 35 minutes 15 seconds before descending to the finish, breaking his own previous record of 55:07 set last year.

Niall McCartan of BARF placed second in 1:00:47. Barry Hartnett of Dundrum AC, County Dublin, took third in 1:02:41.

In the women's race, Rebecca Magee of Newcastle AC finished first in 1:13:02, placing 29th overall. Esther Dickson of Newry AC was second in 1:14:34, and Rachel Quinn took third in 1:15:04.

The team competition ended level between Newcastle AC and BARF on 19 points, based on the finishing positions of each club's first three runners. Newcastle were awarded the trophy after a count-back to the fourth runner, Aaron Macauley's result securing the win for the host club.

Other local finishers included Andrew Tees of BARF in fourth (1:02:54), Tim Conway of Crusaders AC, Dublin, in fifth (1:03:25), and Ashley Crutchley of Newcastle AC in seventh (1:04:13). Keith Johnston of Armagh AC was sixth in 1:03:46.
