Strabane Council Set to Approve 27 Apartments on Main Street Site
Derry City and Strabane District Council planning committee will meet tomorrow to decide on a proposal to build 27 apartments in Strabane town centre.
Owners of four derelict houses at 104 to 110 Main Street seek permission to demolish the structures and construct the residential development.
The application went to the council in 2024. Planning department officials recommend approval.
Anti-social behaviour has occurred at the derelict houses in recent years.
A design statement with the application notes the project will rejuvenate the site and improve the surrounding area's character. It describes the location as accessible, sustainable, and suitable for higher density housing with riverside views.
