A planning application has been lodged with Derry City and Strabane District Council for the redevelopment of St Catherine's Primary School on Newtownkennedy Street in Strabane.

The proposal seeks permission to demolish the existing school buildings and replace them with new school facilities. An existing extension attached to a listed building on the site would also be removed.

A new extension would then be built onto the listed building to house a nursery facility. The overall scheme includes additional car parking, landscaping, and new access arrangements.

The application is now before the council's planning committee, which will decide whether to grant permission.
