Stockman's Lane in south Belfast reopened this evening after a collision closed the road in both directions.

Police closed the road from Stockman's Road roundabout to the Boucher Road junction this afternoon. The closure caused delays into Andersonstown and the Lisburn Road.

Emergency services attended the scene. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 13:19 on Tuesday, 5 May, for a road traffic collision on Stockman's Lane.

Two emergency ambulances and the air ambulance arrived by road. One person received assessment and initial treatment at the scene before transport to Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance.

A PSNI spokesperson advised road-users to seek alternative routes due to the closure and diversions.

Congestion persisted in the area after reopening.
