A group of teenage boys entered a nail salon on Main Street in Bangor and threw a large packet of crisps at customers last Friday afternoon around 4.10pm. The packet nearly struck one customer and created a mess inside Diamond Nails and Spa, owned by Katie Nguyen.

Katie Nguyen stated she felt scared and was shaking after the incident. She and two customers followed the boy outside to ask about his actions, but he swore at them. Nguyen described the teenager as around 15 years old.

The same group had entered the salon the previous week, walking into the kitchen and toilet areas. Nguyen's partner asked them to leave, and they departed laughing.

Nguyen reported the crisps incident to police, who said they would not attend since no one was injured but would monitor the area. She has called police previously about thefts, including fruit taken from a Buddha display and a lighter, but received similar responses.

Nguyen noted the boys have climbed the back of her shop on other occasions and thrown bangers at her when asked to come down. She mentioned the salon has CCTV, but the youths show no concern.

The business has faced such antisocial behaviour for over a year, with incidents increasing in good weather. Police attended a separate incident at Bloomfield Shopping Centre earlier this week and visited homes after identifying involved youths.

Nguyen expressed concern for her shop's safety when she is absent and hoped parents ensure their children stay safe.
