Police in Bangor are investigating reports of anti-social behaviour by groups of youths in the town centre over recent weeks. The incidents disrupted staff and shoppers at local retail premises.

On 16 March, teenage boys entered a store on Main Street. They created a disturbance and threatened a staff member.

Two more reports came in on 20 March. A teenager verbally abused people and threw food at customers and staff in a Main Street business. Police know of a video of that event on social media.

Youths also entered another store that day. They threw items and disrupted workers and the public.

Bangor Neighbourhood Inspector Campbell stated officers treat such reports seriously due to community impact. Police will keep up patrols in Bangor and nearby areas.

The PSNI works with local representatives and partner agencies on these issues. Inspector Campbell stressed joint efforts for responsible behaviour and safe public spaces.

Enquiries continue. Police ask for information via 101, the PSNI website non-emergency form, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
