Police in Bangor, Co Down, investigated multiple reports of antisocial behaviour by a large number of young people on Saturday evening, 25 April.

Officers received a report at 7.05pm of youths fighting in the Quay Street area. The group then moved toward High Street. Reports also came in of large groups congregating at the town train station.

Four young people received injuries during the events and went to hospital for treatment.

A 13-year-old boy faced arrest at 8.15pm in the Abbey Street area for breaching bail conditions. He remains in custody.

Chief Inspector Hutchinson stated that police had resources ready on Saturday to handle antisocial behaviour. Officers patrolled to reassure the public and planned further patrols on Sunday.

Police committed to addressing antisocial reports seriously. They will maintain a presence in Bangor over the weekend and work with partner agencies and local representatives.
