Third Youth Arrested in Derry Disorder Investigation at Nailors Row
Police in Derry/Londonderry arrested an 11-year-old boy on Thursday 7 May. The arrest relates to disorder at the Nailors Row interface earlier in the week. Officers suspect him of riotous behaviour and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. They released him on bail for further enquiries.
A 14-year-old boy arrested on 6 May received bail pending further police enquiries. A 13-year-old boy arrested on 5 May also received bail. The investigation into all involved continues.
Police faced attacks with petrol bombs and missiles in the Bishop Street area on Tuesday. The disorder affected the Fountain estate and Nailors Row areas.
Derry City and Strabane Area Commander Chief Superintendent Gillian Kearney stated the probe examines paramilitary involvement as a line of enquiry.
