Jack Farthing, 38, of no fixed abode faces a charge of exposing himself to a female at Altnagelvin Hospital on March 21.

Staff in the A&E department alerted police after a man allegedly exposed himself in a waiting area in view of staff and patients.

Police connected Farthing to the charge and opposed bail. Officers found him with a half bottle of alcohol.

Farthing told police he had slept in a bus shelter since his recent release.

Defence solicitor Paddy McGurk stated his client would benefit from probation. McGurk noted a recent judge had expressed the same view.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan adjourned the case to Coleraine Court on March 30.
