The 33rd Bangor International Choral Festival takes place April 23-25 at St Comgall’s Parish Centre in Bangor. School, youth and adult choirs will compete and perform over the three days.

Mayor Gillian McCollum launched the event alongside sponsors from Signature Schools and Guillemot Café and Wine Bar. Festival chairwoman Margaret McDowell attended the launch.

Primary school choirs perform Thursday from 10am. Special schools take the stage Friday from 11am. Youth and adult choirs compete Saturday from 10.45am, with the Gala Evening at 7pm for the Open Choral Award.

Entry costs £3 for Thursday, £5 for Saturday competitions and £6 for the Gala Evening. Friday evening offers a free concert at 7.30pm featuring Bangor Ladies Choir, Miskelly Chorale and Rathmore Primary School. Donations support the Festival Fund.

Adjudicator Marcus Pashley returns for the event. Lucy Hollins joins him Saturday. Organisers include a choir from Hydebank College, adjudicated remotely before the festival.
