West Belfast Councillor Flags Repeat Scrambler Incidents in Falls Park
SDLP West Belfast Councillor Paul Doherty raised concerns over scrambler activity in Falls Park. Around 20 vehicles took part in anti-social behaviour there on Sunday night.
This marks the second month in a row that Doherty has highlighted scrambler issues in the park. He noted that large numbers of young people on scramblers disrupted local residents.
Doherty described Falls Park as a public space with significant community investment. He stressed the need to keep it open and safe for all.
The councillor has contacted police about the matter. He stated that avoiding criminal records for young people is preferable but respect for the park and public safety is essential.
Doherty proposed dedicated sites for scrambler use as an alternative approach. He warned that the behaviour must stop to prevent serious injuries.
