A chip shop in Portadown has started giving away free food every Friday afternoon. Danny’s Chippy & Kebab on Park Road serves bacon and sausage baps between 4pm and 5pm. No purchase is required.

The initiative began on March 6. Owner Danny aims to assist 40 people each week. He wants to continue the effort to supply warm meals to those in need without financial concerns.

The shop welcomes all members of the public. It also seeks sponsors to sustain the free meals. More sponsorship allows for regular provisions to the community.
