Kestrel Foods has announced a £5 million investment at its Portadown site to increase production capacity for its chocolate snack ranges.

The company will install advanced chocolate coating and polishing equipment and expand storage facilities at the Carn Industrial Estate.

The project is expected to create 38 new jobs over three years and support the development of new premium products.

Invest NI is providing £350,000 in capital support through its Agri-Food Investment Initiative.

Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald visited the site and said the investment will help the company grow export sales.

Founder and managing director Michael Hall said the upgrades will improve efficiency and support expansion into international markets.

Grainné Moody of Invest NI said the agency has supported the company since 2014 through capital investment, trade missions and skills development.

The business, founded in 1996, exports Forest Feast and other brands to 26 countries.
