Sainsbury's will open its first Omagh store at 9am on Thursday, November 12. The new supermarket is located in Great Northern Retail Park and represents a £12m investment.

The 30,000 square foot store will employ 135 people, with plans to recruit more staff once trading begins. The opening follows the transformation of two units at Great Northern Retail Park, where construction work has been underway since the summer.

A Click & Collect service will be available, allowing customers to order and pick up purchases from Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing in store. A few weeks after opening, the Omagh store will begin serving Sainsbury's Groceries Online customers.

Store Manager Em Morris said the new team is excited to be preparing for customers next month. Morris added that the company is looking forward to bringing Sainsbury's to Omagh for the first time, building on the popularity of its other Northern Irish stores.

The store will be Sainsbury's 13th supermarket in Northern Ireland. Anyone interested in joining the Omagh team can view opportunities on the Sainsbury's Jobs website.
