Revolut, a digital bank with more than 80 million customers worldwide, reported an outage on Tuesday morning that affected multiple services. A company spokesperson said the disruption impacted card payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals, and customer support.

Users in Northern Ireland and elsewhere flagged being unable to make some payments or access funds via the app. Outage monitor Downdetector recorded over 1,500 user reports of issues shortly after 08:00 BST.

Revolut said all customer money and data are safe. The company has been working to fix the issue since it was identified in the morning and apologised for the inconvenience.

The bank has not clarified whether the issues were global. It also declined to say what caused the service problems.

Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland also reportedly experienced some problems, but Lloyds said its app was functioning normally. A Lloyds spokesperson said some customers were having issues with certain online services, and the bank was monitoring the situation.

Some reports have linked the UK-wide issues to an incident affecting Google Cloud's UK facility. A Google Cloud service health dashboard showed elevated errors and intermittent network failures at its europe-west2 facility.

Revolut is one of several digital-only banks known as neobanks that have challenged traditional banks with app-based services.
