Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has initiated a public awareness campaign across the borough to promote inclusive communities ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2026.

Eye-catching artwork featuring the message of building strong communities through openness, understanding, and mutual respect has appeared on local Translink buses.

The four-week initiative aims to encourage residents to support inclusion in daily life by celebrating diversity, challenging stereotypes, supporting equality, and reaching out to others.

The campaign underscores the role of women in shaping inclusive, resilient, and connected communities.

Mayor Councillor Oliver McMullan stated the initiative will reach all areas of the borough and aligns with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme of ‘Give to Gain’.

Councillor Amy Mairs, Chair of the Council’s Women’s Working Group, described International Women’s Day as a celebration of women’s achievements and a call for greater equality.

Good Relations Officer Joy Wisener noted the project promotes positive attitudes across differences in religious belief, political views, race, or culture.

The project received financial assistance from The Executive Office under the 'Together: Building a United Community' strategy.
