A sunken vessel is being recovered from a jetty in County Fermanagh while detectives investigate the disappearance of Carrie Mullane, a 39-year-old woman from Limerick who was last seen in Enniskillen on October 10.

Waterways Ireland issued a marine notice on Wednesday, November 4, closing Tullyinishmore Jetty, between Enniskillen and Carrybridge, until Friday, November 6. The notice said the closure was to facilitate the recovery of a sunken vessel, with access to the jetty prohibited by both land and water.

The PSNI has not confirmed whether the vessel recovery is linked to the murder investigation. Police activity was observed at the jetty on Thursday, including a cordoned-off car park and a police boat leaving the area towards Enniskillen around 4pm.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, November 3, at a property in Trasna Park, Enniskillen. Detectives were granted an additional 36 hours by a court on Wednesday to question him.

Carrie Mullane travelled from Limerick to Enniskillen by bus on October 10, accompanied by a man known to her. The pair took a taxi from the bus station on Wellington Road to an address in Trasna Park at approximately 9pm. This is the last confirmed sighting of her.

Detective Superintendent Richard Thornton of the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch said enquiries had led detectives to hold serious concerns that Carrie may have been the victim of a violent crime and could have been murdered sometime after arriving in Northern Ireland.

Carrie’s son, Jayden Mullane, made a public appeal for her to come home following a vigil in Limerick. Her sister, Sandra Noonan, also appealed for information and said she was travelling north on Thursday to speak with investigators.

Police are asking anyone who saw Carrie on October 10 or has information about her disappearance to contact the Major Investigation Team on 101, quoting reference number 272 of 29/10/26. Information, photographs and footage can also be submitted through the PSNI’s Major Incident Public Portal.
