Man charged over fatal Tyrone collision as police announce road closure for probe
A 38-year-old man has been charged with causing the death of Emmet Potter in a single-vehicle collision in County Tyrone, as police plan to close the road for further investigation.
Mr Potter died at the scene on the Derrycourtney Road in Caledon on April 25.
The PSNI confirmed that the same road will be shut between its junctions with the Annaghroe Road and Knockaginny Road from 9pm on Tuesday 7 July until 2am on Wednesday 8 July. The closure is to allow investigators to carry out scene testing.
Motorists have been told to expect diversions and to allow extra time for journeys. A PSNI spokesperson expressed gratitude for public cooperation during the testing.
The accused, Darren Peter Andrew Callaghan, appeared before a court on April 29. He faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs. Bail was refused.
