Lakeland Dairies announces £24.5m Ballyrashane investment
A £24.5 million investment at Lakeland Dairies' Ballyrashane site was announced by Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald.
The investment will expand production capacity through significant upgrades to liquid milk packing and butter production facilities. It also includes sustainability-focused improvements across the operation.
Dr Archibald visited the company's premises near Coleraine and said the investment demonstrated the company's ongoing commitment to its business in the Causeway Coast and Glens area. She said it supports the agri-food sector's development, strengthens export capability and aligns with her economic priorities by improving productivity and regional balance.
Invest NI has offered LacPatrick Dairies, part of Lakeland Dairies, £2.5 million towards the project through its Agri-Food Investment Initiative.
Lakeland Dairies CEO Colin Kelly said the programme reflects the company's commitment to the future and ambition to grow in both domestic and international markets. He said it will support new product development and deliver wider environmental benefits by enhancing the site's energy sustainability performance.
Invest NI CEO Kieran Donoghue noted the agency has worked with the company for over a decade. He said the project stands out for its innovation and productivity, opening up global growth opportunities through the development of new high-value products.
