Libraries NI is running a series of crime fiction events at libraries across Northern Ireland during June, branded as Crime Readers’ Month. The programme includes author appearances and workshops aimed at both readers and aspiring writers.

Aspiring writers can take part in Pitch a Crime sessions, where they can share story ideas with published authors and receive feedback. These workshops will be held at Ballyclare Library on Tuesday 9 June and at Antrim Library on Tuesday 23 June.

Author James Murphy will speak at several libraries throughout the month, discussing his writing process and the genre’s appeal. His appearances include talks at Antrim, Falls Road, Moira and Lisburn Road libraries, plus a Coffee and Crime event at Glengormley Library.

Author Bernie McQuillan will visit Cregagh and Ormeau Road libraries, while Carrickfergus Library will host Linda Hagan for a session on how local settings can inspire crime stories.

All events are open to the public, and further details are available through local libraries or the Libraries NI events page.
