Northern Ireland Libraries Plan Irish Language Programme for March
Libraries NI operates a series of free events promoting the Irish language during Seachtain na Gaeilge this March. The activities occur at branches throughout Northern Ireland. Some sessions need advance booking.
Randalstown Library schedules a Lego building event combined with Irish language elements on 13 March. Whiterock Library runs an Irish dancing workshop led by professionals on the same date.
Portaferry Library hosts a storytelling session by Aodán ‘Jaff’ Mac Séafraidh on 9 March. Glengormley Library presents an introduction to the Irish language on 14 March. Finaghy Library provides a children's card-making activity using Irish words on 16 March.
Further offerings cover conversation groups, storytimes for children, crafts and basic language sessions. Schedules and booking details appear on library timetables or through direct contact with branches.
Seachtain na Gaeilge forms an annual festival encouraging use of the Irish language in communities across Ireland, including Northern Ireland where public libraries support cultural access.
