A man and a teenager have been sent for trial at Derry Crown Court on charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Zachary Doherty, 19, of Claremont Manse in Derry, and a 17-year-old youth appeared at Londonderry Magistrates' Court on Monday for a preliminary enquiry.

Both face a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm on a man on April 11, 2025. The youth faces an additional charge of threatening to damage a bus on the same date.

The court found there was a case to answer. Neither defendant called witnesses or made a statement.

They were returned for trial on July 1 and released on bail. Bail conditions include a ban from attending Derry City FC matches.
