Two men have appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following a serious assault in the city.

The incident occurred on Lecky Road on Monday, June 15. Police arrested two suspects, aged 61 and 31, and charged them on Wednesday, June 17.

A third man has been charged with assisting offenders in connection with the same assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 8.

All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service as part of standard procedure.
