Craigavon Magistrates Court handed down sentences in two unrelated Lurgan cases this week.

A woman from Marlborough Park in Lurgan was convicted of ten animal welfare offences at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Lisa Glendinning had previously received a ten-year ban on keeping animals in June 2022.

Council officers found evidence of cats and a dog at her address despite the disqualification.

The court imposed a three-month prison term and activated a previously suspended three-month sentence to run consecutively.

Glendinning was also disqualified from keeping animals for 20 years and released on bail pending an appeal.

In a separate case, Elisha Donnelly of Abercorn Park, Portadown, received a global seven-month sentence after pleading guilty to multiple theft charges and breaching a police cordon at Lurgan police station on 31 March.

Donnelly admitted stealing items including cider, clothing, an iPhone, and alcohol from shops in Lurgan, Portadown and Gilford between February and March this year.

She was sentenced to concurrent and consecutive terms across four sets of charges, resulting in seven months custody and a £25 offender levy.
