Organisations in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon promote walking activities throughout May as part of National Walking Month. Getactiveabc coordinates free guided group walks with the Police Service of Northern Ireland under the Walk Wise personal safety programme at locations across the borough.

Getactiveabc offers volunteer walk leader training at Loughgall Country Park and Gilford Community Centre. The sessions support community efforts to increase activity levels. Walking netball takes place at Banbridge Leisure Centre, while walking football occurs at Gilford and Dromore community centres.

Nordic walking sessions teach techniques to improve cardio fitness, strength and posture. Move More Macmillan group walks run through May and June for people living with and beyond cancer. The walks follow scenic routes in the borough.

The ExploreABC app provides audio trails in Lurgan Park and Solitude Park in Banbridge. Getactiveabc backs Southern Health and Social Care Trust's Walk This May campaign. Schools join via Walk to School Week from 18 to 22 May and the Daily Mile initiative.

In Causeway Coast and Glens, the Walking for All programme led by Outscape runs free weekly walks in rural communities. The walks last 10 minutes to one hour and suit adults of all ages and abilities. Groups meet at sites including Bushmills Presbyterian Church, Portstewart Promenade and Cloughmills Old Mill Site.
