Northern Ireland Secretary Hilary Benn toured Vertiv's manufacturing site in Campsie, Derry. The company outlined plans for new machinery and warehouse expansion to boost production and delivery to global customers.

Vertiv provided updates on its expansion across sites in Derry and County Donegal. The firm announced a manufacturing scaleup in February to address rising demand for electrical switchgear, driven by growth in AI and high-performance computing.

Paul Ryan, president for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Vertiv, stated that the company's operations in the North West and Ireland design, manufacture and deliver power distribution infrastructure for data centres. He attributed progress to expertise, innovation, investment and staff.

Benn described the investment as a vote of confidence in local manufacturing skills. He noted the North West of Northern Ireland offers significant opportunities, with the UK Government's Industrial Strategy backing business investment for economic growth and jobs.

Vertiv held a recent walk-in interview day that drew about 250 attendees. Recruitment continues at its three regional sites for roles including electricians, panel wirers, mechanical fitters, general operators, engineers, quality staff and support positions, with full- and part-time options. Another hiring open day is scheduled soon.
