Two Arrested After Petrol Bomb Arson Attack in Saintfield
Police arrested a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after an attack on a house in Saintfield. The pair remain in custody.
The incident occurred at 1.15am on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in the Manse Court area. A window was smashed before a petrol bomb was thrown inside, starting a fire.
Officers and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service personnel attended the scene. They rescued a female resident from the house.
Detective Sergeant Johnston stated police are investigating the matter as arson with intent to endanger life.
Detectives appealed for witnesses who saw suspicious activity in the area. They requested CCTV, doorbell, or other footage to aid inquiries.
