A residential property in the Hatfield Street area of south Belfast was attacked with a petrol bomb in the early hours of Saturday, 15 August.

Police said two masked men approached the house shortly before 12:50am. One man threw a petrol bomb that ignited and caused damage to a window. The second man threw another object, which did not ignite.

The men fled towards the Balfour Avenue area. The fire was extinguished by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.

A number of people were inside the property at the time. No injuries have been reported.

Detective Sergeant Faulkner is investigating and has appealed for information. Anyone with details is asked to contact police, quoting reference number 79 15/08/26, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously.
