Police in west Belfast are investigating a house fire in the Laurelbank area of Poleglass as arson with intent to endanger life. The blaze occurred around 12.45am on Monday, April 13.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service responded with six appliances, including an aerial unit. Firefighters used three hose reel jets and two jets, along with breathing apparatus and gas monitors, to put out the fire. They left the scene at 2.49am.

Detective Sergeant Robson of the PSNI confirmed no one occupied the property and no injuries took place. He pointed out the house's position in a residential area put other residents at risk.

Police attended with fire crews and now lead the probe. They believe deliberate ignition caused the fire.

Detective Sergeant Robson asked witnesses who noticed activity on Sunday evening to come forward. He sought CCTV, ring-doorbell, or other footage.
