Woman in 70s Dies After Lorry Collision in North Belfast
Mary McCrudden, a woman in her 70s, died after a lorry struck her in Belfast's Ardoyne Avenue area on Tuesday, March 24. She was walking her dog at the time of the incident.
Funeral directors P J Browns announced details of her funeral, scheduled for Saturday, March 28. Her remains rest at Listowel, 100 Somerton Road, Belfast, until Saturday. She will leave for a requiem Mass at Holy Cross Church at 10am, followed by burial at Milltown Cemetery.
The funeral notice described Mary McCrudden as the wife of Tommy McCrudden, mother to Steven, Sean and Briege, stepmother to Kathleen, Thomas, Brendan, Eamon, James and Patricia, mother-in-law to Sonia, Campbell and Debbie, grandmother to her grandchildren, and sister to Elizabeth, Frank and Bridget.
Sinn Féin MP John Finucane for North Belfast expressed shock at the death of an elderly woman in the collision. He extended sympathies to her family and urged witnesses to contact police.
