Henry Marley appeared at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with driving while disqualified and driving without insurance. The offences occurred on 15 March in a car park in a residential area.

Police received information about Marley driving the car and contacted the 43-year-old. He stood outside Grosvenor Road PSNI station for half an hour after being contacted.

Marley's solicitor told the court that the defendant made full admissions. The solicitor noted Marley resides at Tollgate House on Bradbury Place in south Belfast and has a significant criminal record.

District Judge Alan White granted bail to Marley. Conditions include £300 own bail, a £500 surety from his partner, and residence at his home address.

In 2002, Marley received a lifetime driving ban for causing the death of 15-year-old Debbie McComb by dangerous driving on Springfield Road. He struck the schoolgirl with a stolen car. A nine-year prison sentence followed in 2003, upheld by the Court of Appeal.
