ANTRIM (sitting in Ballymena): A 60-year-old man charged with possessing a knife and hatchet as offensive weapons, threatening to kill, and causing criminal damage after allegedly confronting noisy car enthusiasts gathering outside his home, has had his case further adjourned to 14 April. Philip Esler of Castle Street Mews, Ballymena, told police he had endured years of loud exhausts and tyre-spinning before he "snapped" and went outside to "get a message across".

BELFAST: A 30-year-old north Belfast man has been sentenced to 24 months imprisonment, suspended for two years, for his role in racially-motivated disorder in August 2024. Curtis Bell was found to have kicked in a door at a property in Rathlin Street that was being targeted by a group attacking homes believed to house foreign migrants, causing an estimated £2,000 worth of damage.
